Hi,
Over the past weeks, I have found myself really enjoying the Australian Open. The intensity, the pressure, the speed and the determination of the players draws you in.
As thrilling as the matches were, one of the most impactful moments came after Friday night's semi-final, as Novak Djokovic – in front of a global audience – took the time to openly thank God. It was a simple, public acknowledgement of his Creator.
Recording artist Jelly Roll was even more overt on stage at Sunday's Grammy Awards. Holding a Bible, he explained how God radically saved him from a deep, dark place and declared "Jesus is for everybody…. and anybody can have a relationship with Him".
Now, a public mention of God doesn't tell us everything about a person's heart. But it does encourage me to see God and the Scriptures recognised so openly.
This becomes even more important when we think about young people. Research released last year by McCrindle pointed to a renewed openness to faith among younger Australians. Many are searching for meaning and truth. And as a parent and grandparent myself, I'm often reminded that the next generation is watching. Not for perfection, or for platitudes – but for authenticity.
That's where Vision has such an important role to play. Every day, this ministry exists to help people look to God daily, and to walk the journey of faith together. Through our radio programs, devotionals and teaching, we want to encourage believers of all ages to be unafraid to live out their faith in everyday life.
When we follow Jesus together, God uses those small moments in ways we may never fully see. I've seen this time and again in my own life.
Thank you for being part of the Vision family, and for helping create space where faith can be explored, strengthened and shared with care and courage. |
