The Foundation That Holds Us Steady |
Hi,
Last Sunday, I wore a shirt to church that had three simple words printed on it: Truth, Goodness, and Beauty. It turned out to be a great conversation starter.
Truth, goodness, and beauty are all expressions of God’s character. And when we build our lives on these things, we have something strong and steady to hold us.
It made me think about how an engineer builds a bridge. We don’t often consider the strong framework underneath as we cross. Those girders and supports that were carefully put in place carry the weight and keep us safe.
Yet in the same way, God’s Word is the foundation that strengthens and supports our lives. It undergirds us through our difficult seasons, and the challenges that lie ahead.
1 Corinthians 3:11 tells us, For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.
At Vision, our heart is to help people nationwide by pointing them back to that foundation every day. Whether you’re just starting out in your faith journey, or have been walking with God for years, we all need those reminders of who He is.
It’s His truth, His goodness, and His beauty that steady us and give us hope, no matter what we’re facing.
So whatever it is you’re facing today, remember this. God is your firm foundation. He is always with you. |
