Risk and Love Captures the World's Attention

Hi,

Did we just see the world’s most daring marriage proposal ever?

A week ago, Russian risk-takers Angela Nikolau and Vanya Beerkus set a new standard for crazy proposals – popping the question high above the Empire State Building. Completely untethered, they kissed and unfurled a banner declaring, “When the power of love beats the love of power, the world knows peace.”  It was quite a statement – and not the first time their daring, unauthorised “rooftopping” has caught the attention of millions of people (and the authorities)!

Another love story getting global attention this week was the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, trending strongly on social media and in the headlines.

What is it about risk-takers and love that draws our attention? Risk-takers fascinate us and love inspires us, gives us hope, and reminds us that we were created for relationship.

While human effort can be daring, and human love can be beautiful – the Bible points us to something far richer:

Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends”  (John 15:13).

The greatest, most daring love story ever told is found at the cross, where Jesus willingly humbled himself and gave it all so that we could know forgiveness, hope, and ultimate peace.

We can be drawn to celebrity, but it is here today and gone tomorrow. The faithful and enduring love of God is what really transforms lives. And it is the driver of our mission here at Vision.

And speaking of God's faithfulness, we are so excited and grateful to share that, thanks to the generosity and prayers of faithful supporters like you, we reached our overall May–June financial goal, praise God!

We are heartened that so many see Vision as good soil. Your faithfulness has helped ensure that the message of God's love continues to reach people daily through this ministry of presence across Australia and beyond – through radio, podcasts, apps, publications and more.

Thank you for helping many more people to show the way to Jesus in Australia and beyond.

As we move into the second half of the year, please continue to pray with us that many more hearts would be drawn to Him—the One whose love never fails.

Thank you for being part of the Vision family.

Blessings,
