Hi,
This weekend, two moments of great significance are happening in Australia.
The first should be no surprise (unless you’ve forgotten!).
Sunday is Mother’s Day – and if you’re blessed to have a mum to honour, I hope you’ll take the time to make her feel loved and special. The unseen faithfulness of mums has shaped more lives, families, and futures than we’ll ever fully measure. Mums, you create heritage, and we celebrate every one of you – from all of us at Vision, happy Mother’s Day!
The second event is much less known – but still important.
Saturday marks a very significant day in Australia’s national story - the 125th anniversary of the opening of our very first Federal Parliament, on 9 May 1901. It took place at the Exhibition Building in Carlton Gardens, Melbourne, the only building in Australia large enough at the time to accommodate the 12,000+ people who attended.
This was a heritage-shaping day for Australia which began with humble acknowledgement of God, and the Governor-General openly praying in the name of Jesus Christ for wisdom, justice, and the welfare of the people. Then they all sang Psalm 100, in thanksgiving to God.
Australia is a very different place today than in 1901, but…
The Lord is still good! His mercy is still everlasting, and His truth still endures to all generations (Psalm 100), and we are absolutely committed to keep declaring the promises of God over our nation in our time! And we carry this flame of faith together – in partnership with people like you.
May is Visionathon month. Already, many have responded to play their part in securing the $2.4 million needed for Vision to keep going and growing – if you are among them, thank you!
Visionathon Action Week begins on Tuesday and marks the first major moment of shared participation this month. It will be four days of faith as we share stories of God at work and believe together to raise at least $1.2 million by Friday – half of the overall Visionathon goal in one concentrated push.
You can be part of something very significant today as part of the quiet but powerful engine that makes Vision possible. We invite you to:
1. Pray about how much you can give. Every dollar makes a difference.
2. Listen to Vision Christian Radio from Tuesday and be encouraged!
3. Respond with your tax-deductible gift.
If you’re ready, you can also respond now and your gift will be counted in the tally. Donate at vision.org.au, in the Vision Christian Media app, or call 1800 316 316.
As you give, you’ll be helping people like Jenny from Bundaberg, QLD. Just this week she told us how a friend put her on to Vision Radio, and the impact was immediate: “I find having it on even for short trips keeps me focussing on God’s wonderful presence in my life. I’ve learnt heaps… and appreciate the opportunity it gives me to engage with a wide range of topics.”
Thank you for your prayerful support at this important time.
With gratitude, |
