United in Prayer for Australia

Hi,

What an incredible week it has been.

On Sunday evening, an unfathomable atrocity occurred on our own soil.

Monday morning, while still trying to process what had happened, the Vision team quickly engaged with trusted voices to help us all process this terrible news – helpful conversations you can hear in the Rise & Shine and 20Twenty podcasts.

But perhaps the most significant thing was that on Monday, the entire Vision team stopped our work for 30 minutes to pray for the victims and families of the Bondi tragedy. We know many others across the Vision family have also paused to pray, and our encouragement is that we stay united in prayer over our nation and our world.

We mourn the lives lost in this devastating attack and pray for all who have been injured, traumatised, or deeply affected. We bring the families and loved ones of the victims before God, asking for His comfort, strength, and peace in the midst of profound and overwhelming loss. We also acknowledge and give thanks for the selfless bravery of first responders and members of the public who acted to protect others.

Together we stand with the victims, the Jewish community, and with all who mourn, and bring words of comfort and hope in a time of crisis – declaring as David did:

“I lift up my eyes to the mountains – where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1

Amen.

Finally, I would also like to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you.

Because of your generosity, Vision has been helping people across Australia and beyond look to God every day of the year, and right now to also encounter the real message of Christmas. Jesus, the Saviour who came for us.

Throughout the year we have also heard from thousands of people sharing how God is using Vision to help them look to Him each day – here are just a few:

In April, Erik from Perth WA said:

“Vision Radio is like true food, which nourishes the spirit. It is a light in the secular darkness.”

In July, Winston from Griffin Qld said:

“Vision speaks God's message at a time when we really need comfort and strength. It is never an accident.”

In November, Kristy from Yulara NT said:

The Word For Today gets my day off to the right start. So often I feel like they are written just for me with a word that touches, challenges, comforts and guides me in a closer walk with God.”

In December, Maria from NSW said:

“After escaping an abusive marriage, Vision became my lifeline. You come into everyone’s homes and cars, and we feel like we know you. We are one big Vision family and we’re never alone.”

It’s stories like these that remind us why Vision matters, and why your support is so important. People are finding comfort, strength, and even a lifeline when they need it most. And whatever their age or situation, they’re reminded that they’re not alone.

Thank you for helping make Jesus known this Christmas. Your support means so much.

PS – As our December appeal continues, your support will help keep the real message of Christmas front and centre, helping more people look to God daily and discover the hope found in Jesus. Thank you for shining His light across Australia and beyond.

Jesus came to bring us peace. Peace isn’t just a word, it’s also divine promise from God. And God’s whole purpose for Christmas was to bring His peace into our lives. This is what gives Christmas its true significance and is the reason we celebrate.
