Hi,
Today, Australia pauses for a National Day of Mourning – a significant and deeply poignant moment, especially as we move toward Australia Day. The events at Bondi have shaken communities across the nation, and together we lift up in prayer those who are grieving and those carrying heavy burdens.
It's rare for our nation to be invited so openly into reflection and righteousness by our government. Yet Scripture reminds us, "Righteousness exalts a nation" (Proverbs 14:34). This moment calls us toward that righteousness – not just in thought, but through kindness lived out. Even simple acts of compassion – what the Jewish community calls a mitzvah – become visible expressions of faith, hope and unity in a time when our country needs it most.
This is what Vision seeks to encourage every day: helping Australians look to God, pray, find hope, and shine His light in practical and grace-filled ways.
Today here at Vision, we will feature a time of special reflection on our 20Twenty program (from 10am AEST on Vision Christian Radio, or in the daily podcast), and we will also pause for a minute's silence at 7.01pm Sydney time. We encourage you to join us.
As we pause today, please join us in praying for Australia – for comfort, for peace, for healing, and for strength to love well in challenging days. |
