It's such a classic analogy of the suffering of people - overloaded with the lies, cares and worries of this world - who are without hope and without the saving grace of our Saviour.
How much do you allow continual negative perspectives to shape your outlook?
Let that simmer for a bit, along with the fact that God’s good news is the ultimate answer to all the worlds cares. Remember this:
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (John 10:10)
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers (Galatians 6:9-11)
And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God (Micah 6:8)
Does this mean we don’t stay across things going on around us? No – but we should always allow scripture to frame our response.
